Goodbye everyone, see you next year!

Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful camp. Hopefully see you all next year for more adventures! TASIS SP 2016 signing off...

Muchísimas gracias a todos por haber hecho de este campamento uno inolvidable. Esperamos veros a todos el año que viene y repetir todas las aventuras. Hasta la próxima TASIS SP 2016!

July 15th afternoon & evening

Esta tarde, nuestras magníficas cocineras nos han preparado una cena muy especial. Hemos celebrado lo bien que lo hemos pasado en el campamento con una cena riquísima y al terminar, hemos saltado a la pista de baile. Después de clase de baile, hemos podido seguir bailando nosotros en el escenario y luego nos hemos ido a casa a terminar de hacer las maletas.

Tonight our magnificent cooks prepared a very special final dinner for us. We celebrated everything that we've achieved over the course of the camp with a delicious dinner prior to an awards and diploma ceremony in the theatre. Afterwards, we danced the night away with our instructor Edwin.

July 15th morning

Today is our last day, and we started with art class finishing off any pieces we had left to complete as well as making bracelets. Afterwards we had Spanish class, which included a treasure hunt around school looking for certain items in small teams. In addition we had our final history of Puerto Rico and drama class. This afternoon we will spend time relaxing in the pool together before heading home to get ready for the banquet and diploma ceremony. 

Hoy por ser el último día, hemos comenzado con clase arte. Hemos aprendido a hacer pulseras y hemos podido terminar unos trabajos que hicimos la semana pasada. Después, en clase de español, los estudiantes han hecho unos juegos en grupo y luego han tenido clase de teatro e historia de Puerto Rico. Esta tarde, estaremos un rato en la piscina y nos iremos a nuestras respectivas casas a arreglarnos para el banquete y la entrega de diplomas de esta noche.

July 14th

After our usual classes in the morning, we had our last ever trip to Ambassadors and an event that everyone had been looking forward to immensely. As a special treat for our last day, we had the whole of the Ritz-Carlton aqua park to ourselves! Three hours of nonstop fun ensued on the slides, lazy river and the plethora of water features in the pools. Upon our return to campus to we headed home to make sure our bags were properly packed for our departure :(

Después de clase de español y biología marina por la mañana, nos hemos ido de excursión a el parque acuático del Ritz Carlton. Lo pasamos genial, cerraron todo el parque solo para TASIS. Fueron tres horas de pura diversión. El parque tenía muchos tipos de piscinas, toboganes y ríos, todo para nosotros solos. Después de cenar, hemos tenido que volver a casa para empezar a hacer las maletas :(

July 13th

Hoy hemos comenzado el día con nuestras clases de español y biología marina. Después de comer, nos hemos ido a El Parque de las Ciencias de Puerto Rico. Tuvimos la oportunidad de explorar diferentes tipos de museos; arte, astrología y arqueología. Después de cenar nos han hecho una sorpresa, ir a la piscina por la noche! Ha estado genial, las luces iluminaban el agua desde debajo causando un efecto precioso en la piscina.

Today we started with our usual morning classes before heading off on an afternoon excursion to the Puerto Rico Science Park. Inside we explored the numerous aspects of science and space that the different exhibitions had to offer. Upon our return to campus in the evening, we had a special treat for Samir's birthday in which we got to go night swimming at the Sabanera complex. Our thoughts and best wishes are with Jack who is on his death bed Get well soon, we love you.

July 12th

Hoy hemos comenzado el día en Ambassadors. El Grupo I se ha dado un paseo en bici por la urbanización del Ritz, mientras el Grupo II ha hecho kayaking por las aguas caribeñas. Mientras paseábamos en bici, nuestros guías nos hablaron sobre Amelia Eahart y su pasión por esta zona de la isla. Hemos llegado al colegio a la hora de comer y después hemos tenido clases de español y biología marina, como todos los días.

Today we started our morning with a trip to Ambassadors. Group I took part in the "Rockerfeller Trail" bike ride around the whole of the estate. On the ride we learnt about the origins of the old plantation and the air strip in which Amelia Earhart was a frequent visitor. Group II took part in a kayak excursion along the coast of the resort. Upon our return to campus we had our usual daily classes.

July 11th

Today we went to Tortuguero Condado at Dorado beach. A specialist group of Turtle experts walked with us down the beach to designated areas marked out, in which the mother turtle has laid her eggs the previous night before. With extra care and precision, our guides removed some of the eggs that hadn't hatched naturally and we got to witness baby turtles enter the world for the very first time.

Hoy hemos ido a el Tortuguero Condado en Dorado beach. Un grupo de especialistas en tortugas marinas nos han llevado por las zonas en las que las tortugas madre habían puesto huevos. Hemos ayudado a abrir los huevos más débiles y hemos liberado las tortugas más débiles. Al final, todas han conseguido llegar a la orilla, ha sido una monada!
